Pictures from a globular cluster workshop in June 1973 in Frascati. As I recall this was a two week workshop. Things were more leisurely then. There were at least two excursions: One to the beach, Tarquinia, and Viterbo which featured tours of Etruscan tombs organized by Vittorio Castellani. The other to Gran Sasso which I remember vividly because I was wearing shorts and a tee shirt and it was windy and snowing (this was Italy in June)

I have much higher resolution versions of all of these pictures. If you would like one to make a print or whatever let me know by emailing rtr@virginia.edu.
This first picture was taken after my first international meeting, The Age of Stars in Meudon in 1972. It's the only picture I took of astronomers there. Realizing that I appreciated this picture much more than my 100 pictures of Paris started my transition to people vs scenery.
