As I frequently do during a visit to Bologna, I made an excursion to Venice to visit Alvio Renzini. Laura Greggio joined me on the train in Padua. Alvio met us at the train station in his boat, and we proceeded down the Grand Canal to the Rialto Market.

After lunch we took the boat to Burano with its colorful houses
On the trip back we had plenty of time to look at the sunset
